After 5 played minutes Fail IF got a freekick which was hit by Lars Rosen. Kim Grubb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Björn Alebäck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Björn Alebäck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kim Grubb, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olov Nordstedt in the 12th minute of play forced Fail IF's goalkeeper Björn Alebäck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Kim Grubb notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Fail IF's Björn Alebäck. Björn Alebäck was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kim Grubb fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Björn Alebäck having to interfere. In the 24th match minute, Fail IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mikael Offendahl to maneuver through the defense. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fail IF's goalkeeper Björn Alebäck, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Kim Grubb had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomas Snäll was out of position in the 31 minute of play, and John Edström capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. John Edström really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olov Nordstedt in the 35th minute of play forced Fail IF's goalkeeper Björn Alebäck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 38 minutes into the game, John Edström recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Thomas Snäll. John Edström showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Björn Alebäck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kim Grubb, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for John Edström to strike the kick off in the second half. Yngve Biörkman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Yngve Biörkman came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Fail IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yngve Biörkman couldn't finish the play. After 67 played minutes Seglora got a freekick which was hit by Östen Sikström. Kim Grubb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Björn Alebäck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Fail IF's zone, Kim Grubb stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Björn Alebäck came out of the goal and Kim Grubb tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mikael Offendahl hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. If Olov Nordstedt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Johnsson charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Daniel Johnsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Dennis Wall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With 91 minutes on the clock, Sven Aronsson commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 91 minutes into the game, one of Seglora:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Henrik Lundqvist shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Östen Sikström hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Seglora's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
