The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eskil Kvick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jim Wennersten, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Eskil Kvick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andreas Pettersson in the 8th minute of play. Tännäs FF's Bengt-Arne Sigman got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Per-Åke Olsson had several of the Cereal Killers's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 31 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Torgny Hylander as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 37th minute, Carl Österlund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 38 minutes into the match, Tännäs FF's Kjell-Arne Forsberg broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Karl-Åke Anundsson hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Torgny Hylander stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bengt-Arne Sigman's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. A collision led to Cereal Killers getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Jim Wennersten hit a great ball. Bengt-Arne Sigman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Andreas Pettersson to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Per-Åke Olsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tännäs FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Per-Åke Olsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 55 minutes of play, Cereal Killers's Jim Wennersten made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eskil Kvick was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Cereal Killers defense, Ulf Julin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Torgny Hylander. The Cereal Killers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Torgny Hylander should have stopped the shot. After 67 played minutes Cereal Killers got a freekick which was hit by Vidar Apelquist. Torgny Hylander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bengt-Arne Sigman in the 74th minute of play. Per-Åke Olsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Torgny Hylander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jim Wennersten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Eskil Kvick made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jan Hellbom got free with Eskil Kvick in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 91 played minutes Tännäs FF got a freekick which was hit by Alf Abrahamsson. In the 94th minute, Folke Svanström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
