Christian Colin started the match with the kick off. Adam Termander made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arvin Blom in the 4th minute. In the 6th minute, Christian Colin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Manchester City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Algot Smitt kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Adam Termander came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Manchester City's Arvin Blom. But to his dismay, Arvin Blom quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Christian Colin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Adam Termander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Tomas Benet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manchester City's Sven-Olof Albäck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaj Dalström in the 25th minute of play. Joacim Nyberg hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Christian Colin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Adam Termander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Christian Colin was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 31st minute. Manchester City's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Arvin Blom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adam Termander having to interfere. If Arvin Blom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gustav Ahlrot's late challenge caught a Ljung's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gustav Ahlrot helped the player get up and apologised. Algot Smitt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Olof Albäck having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Joacim Nyberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kaj Dalström stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Manchester City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jörgen Askestät to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Manchester City booed when Ljung was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Uno Levander didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arvin Blom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Algot Smitt was shown his second yellow card after 64 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 65 played minutes Ljung got a freekick which was hit by Algot Smitt. In the 67th minute, Arvin Blom got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arvin Blom blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adam Termander having to make a save. Adam Termander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Colin in the 71st minute of play. Petter Kilman's late challenge caught a Ljung's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Petter Kilman helped the player get up and apologised. In the 74th minute, Petter Kilman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gustav Ahlrot got his second yellow card in the match during the 82nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Manchester City's Gustav Ahlrot got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Joacim Nyberg's late challenge caught a Ljung's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. Joacim Nyberg hit a great ball. 92 minutes into the match, Ljung's Fredric Eskilsson broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
