Spectators: 7230 (Terracing: 5424, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) Kaj Dalström started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When Algot Smitt fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ljung's protests and gave Algot Smitt a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Mariannelund booed when Ljung was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Algot Smitt didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 4th minute Esbjörn Lundgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adam Termander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 6 minutes into the match, Ljung's goal looked a bit too open when Esbjörn Lundgren came free, but Adam Termander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Esbjörn Lundgren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kaj Dalström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Holmberg having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Mariannelund's Marko Trulsson got a free kick in the 18th minute. Kaj Dalström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. David Holmberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. David Holmberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomas Benet went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The crowd rose to their feet as Tomas Benet kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving David Holmberg. That made the score 2-0 in the 28 minute of play. If Esbjörn Lundgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 37 minutes into the match, Ljung's goal looked a bit too open when Esbjörn Lundgren came free, but Adam Termander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Algot Smitt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Mariannelund fans' excitement grew in the 43rd match minute when Mariannelund's Hannes Hagström looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Esbjörn Lundgren to make the kick off. If Tomas Benet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kaj Dalström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Holmberg having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Hannes Hagström had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adam Termander. Ljung's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hannes Hagström was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Mariannelund's Hannes Hagström got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 82 minutes of play, Ljung's Tomas Benet made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. David Holmberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kaj Dalström in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David Holmberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 89th minute Kaj Dalström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Holmberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hannes Hagström blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adam Termander having to make a save. After 95 minutes, Jörgen Lindmark mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mariannelund and the Ljung players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Mariannelund getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Jörgen Lindmark hit a great ball. 98 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mariannelund's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fredric Eskilsson was slow to take the kick. During this time Ljung's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Fredric Eskilsson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this David Holmberg quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. For all the effort they put into the match, the Mariannelund players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Ljung.
