After a rather tough play, Manchester City's Joacim Nyberg got a free kick in the 12th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esbjörn Lundgren in the 14th minute of play forced Manchester City's goalkeeper Sven-Olof Albäck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arvin Blom struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. David Holmberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester City. Hannes Hagström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Sven-Olof Albäck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hannes Hagström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Sven-Olof Albäck made a huge save. 30 minutes into the game, Hannes Hagström cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Sven-Olof Albäck was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Christian Colin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christian Colin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Holmberg having to interfere. Christian Colin struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. David Holmberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester City. David Holmberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arvin Blom in the 44th minute of the match. In the 46th minute Arvin Blom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Holmberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

If Esbjörn Lundgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. David Holmberg was out of position in the 73 minute of play, and Christian Colin capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Christian Colin really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Christian Colin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving David Holmberg. That made the score 1-2 in the 78 minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Arvin Blom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 84 played minutes Mariannelund got a freekick which was hit by Per Bark. Mariannelund's David Holmberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christian Colin in the 86th minute of play. Sven-Olof Albäck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hannes Hagström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
