Ludwig Utter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 20 minutes into the game, Nacka's Sten Hellström nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ludwig Utter made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Lars-Erik Blomberg's late challenge caught a Djurgårdens IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lars-Erik Blomberg helped the player get up and apologised. In the 27th minute, Lars-Erik Blomberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ulf Landin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The supporters of Nacka booed when Djurgårdens IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ove Alström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nacka's Kent Isaksson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Nacka from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Frans Tunberg took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Kent Isaksson to make any attempt to save it. Lars-Erik Blomberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Nacka fans cheered their team off the field, for while Djurgårdens IF had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
