Spectators: 7243 (Terracing: 5452, Seating: 1671, VIP seats: 120) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Eric Lindqvist got the match started through his kick off. 12 minutes into the game, Greger Matsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Backabo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Täby IFK the free kick. Christer Tillman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Ronny Biörling tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Täby IFK's Christian Rosin got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 30 minutes of play, Backabo FC's Edmund Sjöö made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Esbjörn Öman was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Edmund Sjöö came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Backabo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmund Sjöö couldn't finish the play. If Edmund Sjöö had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Backabo FC's Mats Lidberg suffered a concussion after 42 minutes and had to leave the field. After 42 minutes, Herman Enström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Täby IFK and the Backabo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 43rd minute, Herman Enström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Esbjörn Öman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmund Sjöö in the 44th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Christer Tillman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Christer Tillman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronny Biörling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Täby IFK's Christer Tillman got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edmund Sjöö fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esbjörn Öman having to interfere. Backabo FC's Ronny Biörling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christer Tillman in the 61st minute of play. A collision led to Täby IFK getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Roland Igelström hit a great ball. If Edmund Sjöö had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 73 minutes into the match, Backabo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Christer Tillman came free, but Ronny Biörling reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronny Biörling showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christer Tillman, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Täby IFK's zone, Edmund Sjöö stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Esbjörn Öman came out of the goal and Edmund Sjöö tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edmund Sjöö blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Esbjörn Öman having to make a save. After having played for 95 minutes, Eric Lindqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Backabo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eric Lindqvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
