The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the game, Kristian Andberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Håcksvik FK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paltarna RK the free kick. Alf Eliasson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Henrik Waller went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Henrik Waller fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alf Eliasson having to interfere. Kent Abelsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olov Bergqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 20 played minutes Håcksvik FK got a freekick which was hit by Jens-Åke Mossberg. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dan Westerberg got free with Kent Abelsson in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 28th minute, Tobias Lilja hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Olov Bergqvist came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Paltarna RK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olov Bergqvist couldn't finish the play. After 33 played minutes Håcksvik FK got a freekick which was hit by Malcolm Haraldsson. In the 35th minute, Malcolm Haraldsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Håcksvik FK's zone, Olov Bergqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kent Abelsson came out of the goal and Olov Bergqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Håcksvik FK booed when Paltarna RK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evert Sundström didn't get a good kick on the ball.

If Henrik Waller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kent Abelsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lars Åström's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Paltarna RK's Lars Åström sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kent Abelsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The corner ended in Andreas Grönlund almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Håcksvik FK's Kent Abelsson did a great save. Olov Bergqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 94th minute, Magnus Björk made a precise shot to the right of Alf Eliasson. Paltarna RK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. The Håcksvik FK supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Håcksvik FK would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
