The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alf Eliasson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wictor Hybbert, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Cosmopolitan FC's Kjell Larsson got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paltarna RK's Alf Eliasson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wictor Hybbert in the 8th minute of play. After having played for 11 minutes, Kjell Larsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cosmopolitan FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kjell Larsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cosmopolitan FC's Christian Andreasson got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paltarna RK's Alf Eliasson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kjell Larsson in the 18th minute of play. Jerry Nilsson kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Wictor Hybbert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Evert Sundström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kenneth Hellqvist having to interfere. If Wictor Hybbert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alf Eliasson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wictor Hybbert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ludvig Pilberg hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. In the 41st minute, Andreas Grönlund sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Cosmopolitan FC's Kenneth Hellqvist didn't even have to move. Paltarna RK's Olov Bergqvist got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wictor Hybbert to make the kick off. Olov Bergqvist's late challenge caught a Cosmopolitan FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Olov Bergqvist helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kjell Larsson in the 57th minute of play forced Paltarna RK's goalkeeper Alf Eliasson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpected shot in the 58th minute by Olov Bergqvist got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 59 minutes into the game, Lars Åström cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Kenneth Hellqvist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Olov Bergqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Kenneth Hellqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Paltarna RK getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Jonas Lindholm hit a great ball. Wictor Hybbert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 77th minute, Kjell Larsson made a precise shot to the right of Alf Eliasson. Paltarna RK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After 80 played minutes Paltarna RK got a freekick which was hit by Olov Bergqvist. When Kjell Larsson came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Cosmopolitan FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kjell Larsson couldn't finish the play. If Wictor Hybbert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Cosmopolitan FC booed when Paltarna RK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dan Westerberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 89th minute of the match, Lars Åström got a very nice opportunity to score, but Kenneth Hellqvist was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Wictor Hybbert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paltarna RK succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Cosmopolitan FC had controlled the match.
