Karl-Oskar Kellberg in the 6thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dick Ekman, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Adam Strömberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 11th minute, Adam Strömberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bengt Abrahamsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Adam Strömberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 18 minutes, Vidar Melberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Genevad's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vidar Melberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 22 minutes into the game, Vidar Melberg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Bengt Abrahamsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bengt-Åke Nässén received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dick Ekman came out and tried to block the shot, but Bengt-Åke Nässén slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 25th minute. In the 27th minute, Wictor Snell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Adam Strömberg put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Bengt Abrahamsson. Vidar Melberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Bengt Abrahamsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Genevad's defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when Bengt-Åke Nässén scored to the left of an out of position Dick Ekman, making the score, 2-3. Dick Ekman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bengt-Åke Nässén in the 48th minute of play. After the first half Genevad were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Bengt-Åke Nässén received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Dick Ekman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Genevad's Adam Strömberg got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wictor Snell in the 65th minute of play forced Genevad's goalkeeper Dick Ekman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vidar Melberg struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Bengt Abrahamsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Genevad. Leo Forsberg charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leo Forsberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Adam Strömberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute Bengt-Åke Nässén shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dick Ekman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bengt-Åke Nässén fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dick Ekman having to interfere. Genevad's Dick Ekman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bengt-Åke Nässén in the 88th minute of play. When Bengt-Åke Nässén came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Harestad fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bengt-Åke Nässén couldn't finish the play. 96 minutes into the match, Genevad's Dennis Harlén sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bengt Abrahamsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
