The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Aleri FC. Korhan Tezal had in the 35thth minute some difficulties stopping Viktor Gadd's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 36th match minute, WeenZ United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manfred Bogren to maneuver through the defense. Aleri FC's Patrik Hammarbäck got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 40th minute, Petter Smedfeldt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. WeenZ United's Melker Martinsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrik Hammarbäck in the 42nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Patrik Hammarbäck managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aleri FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Patrik Hammarbäck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Melker Martinsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Petter Smedfeldt came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Aleri FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Petter Smedfeldt couldn't finish the play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Patrik Hammarbäck to make the kick off. Petter Smedfeldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
