The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Peking Animals's Rickard Svensson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fred Arhenius in the 3rd minute of play. 4 minutes into the match, Karl-Oskar Samuelsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anders Browald. Västerfärnebo RK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Karl-Oskar Samuelsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Västerfärnebo RK's Anders Browald played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Stenqvist in the 8th minute of play. Anders Browald showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richard Stenqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. The supporters of Västerfärnebo RK booed when Peking Animals was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stig-Ove Sjöberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vincent Bergman didn't quite understand what happened when in the 13 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. After a rather tough play, Peking Animals's Bengt-Arne Bergqvist got a free kick in the 15th minute. If Ulf Grubb had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oscar Hernström got free with Rickard Svensson in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 21 minutes, Richard Stenqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peking Animals's supporters crossed their fingers, but Richard Stenqvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Karl-Oskar Samuelsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After recieving a nice pass, Västerfärnebo RK's Vincent Bergman tried to score from far away in the 27th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Oscar Hernström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute, Ulf Grubb made a precise shot to the right of Rickard Svensson. Peking Animals's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 33 minutes into the game, Josef Albohm was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Peking Animals's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Västerfärnebo RK the free kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Ulf Grubb managed to get in a good position for a shot. Västerfärnebo RK's supporters rose to their feet, but Ulf Grubb was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rickard Svensson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ulf Grubb to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Peking Animals's goalkeeper Rickard Svensson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Karl-Oskar Samuelsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Richard Stenqvist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anders Browald read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Västerfärnebo RK's Anders Browald played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Oskar Samuelsson in the 68th minute of play. After some careless play in the Västerfärnebo RK defense, Richard Stenqvist kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Anders Browald. The Västerfärnebo RK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Anders Browald should have stopped the shot. After 73 minutes, Inge Hjortsberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Västerfärnebo RK and the Peking Animals players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 73 played minutes Västerfärnebo RK got a freekick which was hit by Inge Hjortsberg. Ulf Grubb struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Rickard Svensson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Västerfärnebo RK. After 79 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Peking Animals! The audience thought a goal was coming when Richard Stenqvist got free with Anders Browald in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rickard Svensson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulf Grubb in the 92nd minute of the match. Ulf Grubb recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 99th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
