In the 14th minute Jesper Kilström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pål Pååk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 18 minutes, Jimmie Kolberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Valsjöbyn's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jimmie Kolberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jörn Hermansson took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pål Pååk. Pål Pååk dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Ralf Lundgren hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Valsjöbyn's Christian Kinell tried to score from far away in the 24th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Jan-Åke Berg charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jan-Åke Berg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Ystad's Jan-Åke Berg got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 27th minute, Jörn Hermansson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 28 minutes into the match, Ystad's goal looked a bit too open when Jesper Kilström came free, but Pål Pååk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jesper Kilström came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Valsjöbyn fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jesper Kilström couldn't finish the play. Vilhelm Örnberg's late challenge caught a Valsjöbyn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The Valsjöbyn fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Pål Pååk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jesper Kilström in the 47th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nils Pihlberg to strike the kick off in the second half. Pål Pååk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jesper Kilström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jesper Kilström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Pål Pååk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ystad's Pål Pååk proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Ystad from getting a goal against them.
