Simon Lindqvist made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Alfred Karlsson sent off a good shot on target. Billy Bennet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simon Lindqvist having to interfere. Gånghester IFK's Simon Lindqvist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Gånghester IFK from getting a goal against them. In the 16th match minute, Gånghester IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Holger Ödman to maneuver through the defense. 22 minutes into the game, Edsele BF's Christer Rudberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Simon Lindqvist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Simon Lindqvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jörgen Åkesson in the 24th minute. Simon Lindqvist was a little too slow when Jörgen Åkesson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 24th minute. The score was now 3-0. If Jörgen Åkesson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute, Billy Bennet reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Simon Lindqvist. The goal made the score 4-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jörgen Åkesson got free with Simon Lindqvist in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gånghester IFK's Simon Lindqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Billy Bennet in the 36th minute of play. Jörgen Åkesson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simon Lindqvist having to interfere. Though ot was a great shot Gånghester IFK's keeper Simon Lindqvist was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. In the 47th of the match, Billy Bennet tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Simon Lindqvist got in the way and made a wonderful save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Holger Ödman to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Gånghester IFK's zone, Jörgen Åkesson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Simon Lindqvist came out of the goal and Jörgen Åkesson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Billy Bennet struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Simon Lindqvist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Edsele BF. After 59 minutes, Billy Bennet made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. Gånghester IFK's Simon Lindqvist tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jörgen Åkesson in the 62nd minute of play forced Gånghester IFK's goalkeeper Simon Lindqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Billy Bennet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Simon Lindqvist came out of the goal and Billy Bennet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jörgen Åkesson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Simon Lindqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Holger Ödman kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Jörgen Åkesson might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Simon Lindqvist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jörgen Åkesson ran back to his position shaking his head. Simon Lindqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Billy Bennet in the 73rd minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Gånghester IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Billy Bennet came free, but Simon Lindqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Billy Bennet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simon Lindqvist having to interfere. Gånghester IFK's Simon Lindqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Billy Bennet in the 86th minute of play. Jörgen Åkesson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Simon Lindqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Billy Bennet in the 91st minute of play. Edsele BF's Billy Bennet got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edsele BF's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
