But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Konrad Blomqvist couldn't finish the play. Konrad Blomqvist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jimmie Alströmer charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jimmie Alströmer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 13th minute Arnäsvall IFK were awarded a corner. Alf Nyman went to the cornerflag to take it. Calle Berggren charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 25th minute of the match Viggo Julin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sigvard Kjellbom skillfully saved the ball. Jimmie Alströmer hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Björn Snäll during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 32nd match minute, Arnäsvall IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven-Olof Wallmark to maneuver through the defense. Filip Classon took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sigvard Kjellbom. Sigvard Kjellbom dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Konrad Blomqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Sigvard Kjellbom showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filip Classon in the 42nd minute of the match. Arnäsvall IFK's Johnny Bröms got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Patrik Holmberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jens-Ola Fanström in the 47th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Filip Classon made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Johnny Bröms got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Björn Snäll received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Patrik Holmberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jens-Ola Fanström in the 54th minute of play forced Refuse To Swim's goalkeeper Patrik Holmberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Filip Classon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Sigvard Kjellbom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Arnäsvall IFK defense, Filip Classon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sigvard Kjellbom. The Arnäsvall IFK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sigvard Kjellbom should have stopped the shot. When Arnäsvall IFK's Jens-Ola Fanström in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Refuse To Swim's goalie prevented a goal. Björn Snäll fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrik Holmberg having to interfere. Björn Snäll struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Patrik Holmberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arnäsvall IFK. The supporters of Arnäsvall IFK booed when Refuse To Swim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Calle Berggren didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sigvard Kjellbom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filip Classon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Björn Snäll scored 1-3 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Patrik Holmberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Patrik Holmberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jens-Ola Fanström in the 87th minute of play. In the 88th minute Björn Snäll shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrik Holmberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jens-Ola Fanström in the 90th minute of play forced Refuse To Swim's goalkeeper Patrik Holmberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Konrad Blomqvist got free with Sigvard Kjellbom in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Refuse To Swim supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Refuse To Swim would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
