The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 9 minutes into the match, Mean Machines's goal looked a bit too open when Jerry Henriksson came free, but Gösta Sigfridsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 10th match minute, Mean Machines was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christer Rosén to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Älghult RK defense, Linus Boman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jens-Åke Stålman. The Älghult RK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jens-Åke Stålman should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Mean Machines getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Rune Åkesson hit a great ball. Älghult RK's Jens-Åke Stålman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Linus Boman in the 22nd minute of play. Johan Magnusson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Jens-Åke Stålman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Älghult RK defense, Malte Bollström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jens-Åke Stålman. The Älghult RK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jens-Åke Stålman should have stopped the shot. When Rune Åkesson fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mean Machines's protests and gave Rune Åkesson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 29th minute, Rune Åkesson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gösta Sigfridsson acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 30th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Pär Stensson. Karl Fristedt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Gösta Sigfridsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Mean Machines booed when Älghult RK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richard Lönn didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johan Magnusson in the 37th minute of play forced Älghult RK's goalkeeper Jens-Åke Stålman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gösta Sigfridsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sivert Lundgren in the 39th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Karl Fristedt was the one to do the kick off. Jens-Åke Stålman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johan Magnusson in the 53rd minute of play. The supporters of Mean Machines booed when Älghult RK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richard Lönn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Älghult RK's Jens-Åke Stålman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johan Magnusson in the 58th minute of play. Richard Lönn kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. After 64 minutes, Kenneth Lindholm mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mean Machines and the Älghult RK players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 64 played minutes Mean Machines got a freekick which was hit by Kenneth Lindholm. Jens-Åke Stålman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Linus Boman in the 66th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Älghult RK fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 68th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 71 minutes, Mean Machines's Rune Åkesson got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jens-Åke Stålman. With a little luck, Älghult RK's Jens-Åke Stålman got control of the ball when Linus Boman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Linus Boman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Jens-Åke Stålman made a huge save. In the 86th minute Johan Magnusson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jens-Åke Stålman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 87 minutes, Jens-Åke Stålman successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Jerry Henriksson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Älghult RK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 95th minute, when Johan Magnusson scored to the left of an out of position Jens-Åke Stålman, making the score, 0-4. The Mean Machines players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
