Gällstad IFK's Marko Nordmark got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in FC Qoz's zone, Paul Linqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mathias Lekberg came out of the goal and Paul Linqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 16 minutes into the match, FC Qoz's goal looked a bit too open when Paul Linqvist came free, but Mathias Lekberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Paul Linqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to FC Qoz getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Morgan Gunnarsson hit a great ball. Bengt-Rune Torstensson came free with the goalkeeper in the 23rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Manfred Wållander could save by the left post. Dan Stålberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manfred Wållander having to interfere. After 28 played minutes FC Qoz got a freekick which was hit by Karl Öberg. Bengt-Rune Torstensson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manfred Wållander having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Gällstad IFK's goalkeeper Manfred Wållander had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bengt-Rune Torstensson. Paul Linqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Mathias Lekberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 49th minute of the match Gällstad IFK got a corner. FC Qoz's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ivan Sander ran over to the corner to take the kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Bengt-Rune Torstensson in the 54th minute of play forced Gällstad IFK's goalkeeper Manfred Wållander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manfred Wållander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dan Stålberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Dan Stålberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manfred Wållander having to interfere. 65 minutes into the game, Bengt-Arne Winström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gällstad IFK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Qoz the free kick. Bengt-Arne Winström kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Ivan Sander's late challenge caught a FC Qoz's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ivan Sander helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Gällstad IFK's Ivan Sander got a free kick in the 68th minute. 72 minutes into the match, Bengt-Rune Torstensson notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Gällstad IFK's Manfred Wållander. Manfred Wållander was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dan Stålberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dan Stålberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Manfred Wållander. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dan Stålberg ran back to his position shaking his head. Bengt-Rune Torstensson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manfred Wållander having to interfere. Manfred Wållander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rune Wållander in the 91st minute of the match. In the 98th minute Rune Wållander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manfred Wållander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
