Stig Hellsing made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 2-1 became the score in the 27th minute when Kaj Blixt elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 36th minute of the match, Kaj Blixt tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Wiktor Friberger saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Nävlinge's Mats Bergqvist got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lars Salkvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stig Hellsing having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mats Bergqvist got free with Stig Hellsing in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 66 minutes into the game, Roger Arenstedt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sysslebäck IK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nävlinge the free kick. The supporters of Nävlinge booed when Sysslebäck IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Arenstedt didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Edvin Tholsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sysslebäck IK's supporters rose to their feet, but Edvin Tholsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
