BARCA's Sven-Erik Svanér proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save BARCA from getting a goal against them. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Ian Åberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arne Vennerkvist having to interfere. After 61 played minutes Hörby got a freekick which was hit by Paul Salqvist. When Reine Gallberg was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 62 minutes had been played. In the 63rd match minute, BARCA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reine Gallberg to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th minute Åke Cane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven-Erik Svanér saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But to his dismay, Karl-Erik Klint quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0.
