Spectators: 6030 (Terracing: 4500, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 30) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Bengt Holmberg started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Varnhem BK's goalkeeper Tor Åkesson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ove Abrahamsson. In the 6th minute, Frans Mattsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Will Griggs On Fire's zone, Ulf Duset stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jack Åberg came out of the goal and Ulf Duset tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ludwig Lind in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jack Åberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ove Abrahamsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tor Åkesson having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Ludwig Lind managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varnhem BK's supporters rose to their feet, but Ludwig Lind was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jack Åberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Ludwig Lind got free in front of the goal in the 32nd minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Jack Åberg was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. If Ludwig Lind had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ludwig Lind struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Jack Åberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Varnhem BK. Varnhem BK's Ulf Duset got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Ulf Duset had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ulf Duset made a kick off. Jack Åberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulf Duset, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. If Ulf Duset had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulf Duset recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tor Åkesson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bengt Holmberg in the 74th minute of play. Bengt Holmberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tor Åkesson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bengt Holmberg ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Will Griggs On Fire booed when Varnhem BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leif Kullgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute Ove Abrahamsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tor Åkesson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th minute, Ulf Duset fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jack Åberg, passed just outside the right post. After a rather tough play, Will Griggs On Fire's Nils-Åke Skräddare got a free kick in the 89th minute. 1-2 became the score in the 95th minute when Bengt Holmberg elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded Varnhem BK left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Will Griggs On Fire.
