The supporters of Tivoli Hill FC booed when IFK Göteborg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ludvig Elg didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th minute of the match Isac Boman shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kurt Vall showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Kurt Vall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bo-Erik Rudkvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Sebastian Broman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ingmar Holmgren having to interfere. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Tivoli Hill FC's Tomas Forsberg got a free kick in the 40th minute. A collision led to Tivoli Hill FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Elliot Alfors hit a great ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 55th minute, Bo-Erik Rudkvist ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kurt Vall was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. With a little luck, IFK Göteborg's Kurt Vall got control of the ball when Holger Hagberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bo-Erik Rudkvist got free with Kurt Vall in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 95 minutes into the match, IFK Göteborg's goalkeeper Kurt Vall had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bo-Erik Rudkvist. If Bo-Erik Rudkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Tivoli Hill FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tivoli Hill FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
