A collision led to Svenstavik getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Viktor Ljungberg hit a great ball. Jens-Ola Berglund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Svenstavik's Knut Jonsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valter Hedling in the 15th minute of play. Knut Jonsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Wester, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Valter Hedling notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Svenstavik's Knut Jonsson. Knut Jonsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Viktor Ljungberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Malmberget's goalkeeper Tom Hammarbäck, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Knut Jonsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jens-Ola Berglund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes into the match, Svenstavik's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Wester came free, but Knut Jonsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Viktor Ljungberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Malmberget getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Valter Hedling hit a great ball. Tomas Tholsson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tom Hammarbäck came out and tried to block the shot, but Tomas Tholsson slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 44th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Tholsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tor Mikaelsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 69 minutes into the match, Jens-Ola Berglund dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Knut Jonsson, 3-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valter Hedling in the 75th minute of play forced Svenstavik's goalkeeper Knut Jonsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Henry Linqvist's late challenge caught a Malmberget's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Henry Linqvist helped the player get up and apologised. In the 78th match minute, Svenstavik was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henry Linqvist to maneuver through the defense. Malmberget's Karl-Michael Örtendal got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Svenstavik booed when Malmberget was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronny Qvarnström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Malmberget's Tom Hammarbäck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Tholsson in the 86th minute of play. When Viktor Ljungberg came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Svenstavik fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Viktor Ljungberg couldn't finish the play. Knut Jonsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valter Hedling in the 96th minute of play.
