Seating: 1672, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Håkan Qvarnström got the match started through his kick off. Edvard Malmberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kåre Strandberg in the 4th minute of play. Sverker Erserman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 16 played minutes Ekeby RK got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Hagström. Boris Pååk struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Bertil Östman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kalvträsk. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sture Holmberg during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 21 played minutes Ekeby RK got a freekick which was hit by Sture Holmberg. Boris Pååk hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Håkan Qvarnström received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bertil Östman came out and tried to block the shot, but Håkan Qvarnström slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 33rd minute. Kalvträsk's Edgar Skarkman got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sverker Erserman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th match minute, Kalvträsk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dick Rolfsson to maneuver through the defense. 42 minutes into the match, Kalvträsk's goal looked a bit too open when Kåre Strandberg came free, but Edvard Malmberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sverker Erserman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edvard Malmberg having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sverker Erserman made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sverker Erserman in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edvard Malmberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Ekeby RK's Sture Holmberg got a free kick in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sverker Erserman in the 59th minute of play forced Kalvträsk's goalkeeper Edvard Malmberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kalvträsk's Edvard Malmberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sverker Erserman in the 64th minute of play. Kåre Strandberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Edvard Malmberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Sverker Erserman kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Edvard Malmberg. That made the score 1-2 in the 74 minute of play. Kåre Strandberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Edvard Malmberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 79 minutes into the match, Kalvträsk's goal looked a bit too open when Sverker Erserman came free, but Edvard Malmberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kalvträsk's Edgar Skarkman got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
