Spectators: 6108 (Terracing: 4400, Seating: 1698, VIP seats: 10) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Per-Olof Söderqwist kicked off to start the match. Calle Wallman came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Båstad's Tony Bergkvist. But to his dismay, Tony Bergkvist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. FC HJÄLLBO's Ernst Hagberg quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Sven-Oskar Bruhn, made in the 6th minute of the game. The supporters of Båstad booed when FC HJÄLLBO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sten Myr didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Ahlin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per-Olof Söderqwist in the 18th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Per-Olof Söderqwist in the 20th minute of play forced Båstad's goalkeeper Tomas Ahlin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute Per-Olof Söderqwist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomas Ahlin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Per-Olof Söderqwist struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Tomas Ahlin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC HJÄLLBO. After some careless play in the FC HJÄLLBO defense, Tony Bergkvist kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Calle Wallman. The FC HJÄLLBO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Calle Wallman should have stopped the shot. After 31 minutes of play, Båstad's Valter Sandström made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Calle Wallman was left in no man's land by his defense there! Båstad's Tomas Ahlin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Båstad from getting a goal against them. Vidar Vikström scored 2-3 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tomas Ahlin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Per-Olof Söderqwist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomas Ahlin having to interfere. After a rather tough play, FC HJÄLLBO's Sten Myr got a free kick in the 45th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tony Bergkvist was the one to do the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Båstad's goal looked a bit too open when Per-Olof Söderqwist came free, but Tomas Ahlin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomas Ahlin came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by FC HJÄLLBO's Per-Olof Söderqwist. But to his dismay, Per-Olof Söderqwist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-3. Tomas Ahlin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Torsten Åström, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. After 78 played minutes FC HJÄLLBO got a freekick which was hit by Torsten Åström. In the 79th minute of the match Karl-Johan Wennerlund shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Calle Wallman showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Tomas Ahlin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Björnberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. 84 minutes into the game, FC HJÄLLBO's André Åberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tomas Ahlin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-3. If Tomas Björnberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Vidar Vikström managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC HJÄLLBO's supporters rose to their feet, but Vidar Vikström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomas Ahlin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sven-Åke Helström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Tomas Ahlin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Calle Wallman made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Valter Sandström sent off a good shot on target. There was no doubt that FC HJÄLLBO were the better team. FC HJÄLLBO's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
