After 15 minutes, Mats Ahlberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AIK FC and the Alstermo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mats Ahlberg kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. AIK FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jörgen Holmgren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Karl-Oskar Olsman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Walmarsson in the 22nd minute of the match. If Verner Boström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jörgen Holmgren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alstermo's Dag Österberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Verner Boström in the 26th minute of play. Dag Österberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Montenegro in the 31st minute of the match. If Hjalmar Kinell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Alstermo's Ian Knutsson got a free kick in the 34th minute. Dag Österberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernando Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. AIK FC's Fernando Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 40th play minute Jörgen Holmgren came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Dag Österberg. 2-0. 47 minutes into the match, Alstermo's Edward Walmarsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Karl-Oskar Olsman narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

The wind increased when Verner Boström made the kick off in the second half. Fernando Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dag Österberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. AIK FC's Karl-Oskar Olsman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save AIK FC from getting a goal against them. Fernando Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dag Österberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Karl-Oskar Olsman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ian Knutsson in the 78th minute of play. In the 79th minute, Jaffer Al Holey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The AIK FC fans' excitement grew in the 82nd match minute when AIK FC's Verner Boström looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
