The audience thought a goal was coming when Axel Månsson got free with Rune Hedström in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 4 minutes into the game, Kjell Fagerberg recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rune Hedström. Kjell Fagerberg showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 7 minutes into the game, Tomas Ivarsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Virestad's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lima the free kick. Algot Alebäck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Hjalmar Ambjörnsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 10 minutes, Tommy Nyman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lima's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tommy Nyman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rune Hedström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kjell Fagerberg in the 14th minute of the match. Lima's defense didn't have a chance, in the 15th minute, when Kjell Fagerberg scored to the left of an out of position Rune Hedström, making the score, 2-0. 19 minutes into the game, Axel Månsson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rune Hedström. Axel Månsson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Kjell Fagerberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rune Hedström. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kjell Fagerberg ran back to his position shaking his head. Tomas Ivarsson's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 25thth minute, Rune Hedström skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 31st minute, Algot Alebäck got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tommy Nyman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hjalmar Ambjörnsson having to interfere. A sloppy throw-in by Daniel Hääger in the 36th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Lima's Tommy Nyman. Kjell Fagerberg hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Rune Hedström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kjell Fagerberg in the 42nd minute of the match. Timmy Blomqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kjell Fagerberg to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Tomas Ivarsson notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Lima's Rune Hedström. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Lima booed when Virestad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timmy Blomqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hubert Ivarsson's late challenge caught a Lima's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hubert Ivarsson helped the player get up and apologised. Hubert Ivarsson kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Rune Hedström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Ivarsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 84 minutes into the match, Kjell Fagerberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rune Hedström. Lima's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kjell Fagerberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. 90 minutes into the match, Tomas Ivarsson notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Lima's Rune Hedström. Rune Hedström was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 93rd minute Tomas Ivarsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rune Hedström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lima's Rune Hedström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Ivarsson in the 95th minute of play.
