In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Påskallavik's goalkeeper Arne Kalfhage, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Väse BK booed when Påskallavik was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcus Rudberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Torsten Jakobsson's late challenge caught a Väse BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Påskallavik's Arne Kalfhage played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arne Högström in the 37th minute of play. Arne Kalfhage took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gösta Bergsten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Väse BK's Arne Högström in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Påskallavik's goalie prevented a goal. If Arne Högström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Harald Löfskog kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
A hard shot by Åke Wennerberg from long distance, 52 minutes into the match, got Arne Kalfhage's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Gösta Bergsten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arne Kalfhage made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Gösta Bergsten sent off a good shot on target. When Torsten Jakobsson was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 81 minutes had been played. Torsten Jakobsson hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. When Gösta Bergsten came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Väse BK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gösta Bergsten couldn't finish the play. If Arne Högström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 87 minutes, Gösta Bergsten managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
