Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jan-Ove Bäck started the match with the kick off. 2 minutes into the game, Birger Alén was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hoting's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dennis Byberg the free kick. In the 2nd match minute, Hoting was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Birger Alén to maneuver through the defense. Stefan Pettersson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan-Ove Bäck in the 7th minute of play. Håkan Andreasson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Evert Åkesson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Håkan Andreasson in the 18th minute of play. Stefan Pettersson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ove Wennerlund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute, Filiph Lingren ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Evert Åkesson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. If Fredrik Offendahl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Dennis Byberg's Göran Lekberg got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 30th match minute, Dennis Byberg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Göran Lekberg to maneuver through the defense. Stefan Pettersson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan-Ove Bäck in the 32nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Hoting's zone, Håkan Andreasson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evert Åkesson came out of the goal and Håkan Andreasson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Hoting getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Claes Eklund hit a great ball. Håkan Andreasson might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Evert Åkesson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Håkan Andreasson ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Göran Lekberg during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a little luck, Dennis Byberg's Stefan Pettersson got control of the ball when Ove Wennerlund tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half Dennis Byberg were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hannes Nordmark made a kick off. Mattias Almqvist was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 56 minutes into the match. Stefan Pettersson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars-Erik Brander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 62 played minutes Hoting got a freekick which was hit by Lars-Erik Brander. After having played for 69 minutes, Göran Lekberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dennis Byberg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Göran Lekberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stefan Pettersson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ludwig Colin in the 70th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan-Ove Bäck in the 72nd minute of play forced Dennis Byberg's goalkeeper Stefan Pettersson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Filiph Lingren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Evert Åkesson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Evert Åkesson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filiph Lingren in the 77th minute of the match. In the 80th minute Ove Wennerlund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stefan Pettersson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th match minute, Dennis Byberg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fredrik Offendahl to maneuver through the defense. Jens Björkqvist was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 85th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 95 minutes into the game, Hoting's Jan-Ove Bäck nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Stefan Pettersson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. When the referee blew the final whistle, Hoting could leave the field as winners, despite Dennis Byberg having more of the ball for most of the match.
