The crowd rose to their feet as Pär Sundström kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jon Mattsson. That made the score 1-0 in the 8 minute of play. Pär Sundström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Jon Mattsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The long shot by Jim Kvick in the 18th minute really tested Jon Mattsson's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 27th minute, Pär Sundström fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jon Mattsson, passed just outside the right post. 27 minutes into the game, medan if's Patrick Levander nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jon Mattsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. In the 31st minute Jens-Åke Drewitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jon Mattsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes in the game, Matthias Josefsson dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Matthias Josefsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elliot Galle read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play.
