The audience was convinced that Rune Örtendal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kennet Ahlstedt was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Rune Örtendal put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Kennet Ahlstedt. A collision led to FC Gnaget getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Birger Gadd hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Rune Örtendal put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Kennet Ahlstedt. In the 39th minute Ivan Stephansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kennet Ahlstedt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Örviken IK's Kennet Ahlstedt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rune Örtendal in the 40th minute of play. Kennet Ahlstedt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Allan Isaksson in the 43rd minute of the match. If Bo-Erik Svensson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kennet Ahlstedt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rune Örtendal in the 46th minute of play. In the 48th minute Rune Örtendal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kennet Ahlstedt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rune Örtendal made a kick off. Örviken IK's Kennet Ahlstedt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Örviken IK from getting a goal against them. Mårten Hult fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kenny Månsson having to interfere. After having played for 60 minutes, Harry Wiberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Örviken IK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Harry Wiberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kenny Månsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mårten Hult, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Kennet Ahlstedt made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Rune Örtendal sent off a good shot on target. In the 72nd match minute, Örviken IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nils Almkvist to maneuver through the defense. 76 minutes into the match, Örviken IK's goalkeeper Kennet Ahlstedt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rune Örtendal. Rune Örtendal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kennet Ahlstedt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Ivan Stephansson had several of the Örviken IK's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 80 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-5 score and a disappointed Kennet Ahlstedt as he didn't even see the shot coming. Kennet Ahlstedt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ivan Stephansson in the 83rd minute. Kennet Ahlstedt made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Rune Örtendal sent off a good shot on target. When the match clock showed 92 minutes, the score became 1-7 when Rune Örtendal sped through Örviken IK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Kennet Ahlstedt. When the match was over FC Gnaget could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Örviken IK throughout the match.
