Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jesper Wahlnäs during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jesper Wahlnäs hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Storfors's zone, Måns Ahlström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Söderström came out of the goal and Måns Ahlström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 8 minutes of play, Hammarby's Daniel Vikström made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Martin Söderström was left in no man's land by his defense there! Hans Åström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ingemar Lindqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After 25 minutes, Ted Wik mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Storfors and the Hammarby players grew even worse after the yellow card. Martin Söderström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Vikström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28thth minute of the game Daniel Vikström who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Storfors's Martin Söderström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Måns Ahlström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Martin Söderström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Vikström in the 32nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Daniel Vikström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hammarby's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Vikström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martin Söderström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 34th match minute, Storfors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jesper Wahlnäs to maneuver through the defense. If Måns Ahlström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 38 played minutes Storfors got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Gallberg. In the 41st minute Bengt-Arne Salqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans Åström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martin Söderström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Måns Ahlström in the 45th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Vikström in the 47th minute of play forced Storfors's goalkeeper Martin Söderström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Bengt-Arne Salqvist made the kick off in the second half. Storfors's Bengt-Arne Salqvist got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 62nd minute, Bengt-Arne Salqvist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hans Åström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bengt-Arne Salqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. If Bengt-Arne Salqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Klas Ekelund in the 68th minute of play forced Hammarby's goalkeeper Hans Åström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hammarby's Daniel Vikström got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 78th minute, Håkan Odén hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Storfors's Ingemar Lindqvist couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 79th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Hammarby. Daniel Vikström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Martin Söderström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Måns Ahlström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Martin Söderström made a huge save. If Klas Ekelund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Hammarby players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
