Calle Bredberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Wiktor Bröms had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hampus Kilman hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Ronny Ekegren succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 20th playminute. 23 minutes into the match, Borås FK's goalkeeper Vilgot Fernström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ronny Ekegren. Ronny Ekegren could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Vilgot Fernström made a huge save. Esbjörn Larsson hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. In the 29th minute, Ronny Ekegren left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ransäter FK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wiktor Bröms during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ronny Ekegren could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Vilgot Fernström made a huge save. If Bo Holmgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Calle Bredberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bo Holmgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Ronny Ekegren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vilgot Fernström having to interfere. A collision led to Borås FK getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Wiktor Bröms hit a great ball. After 44 played minutes Ransäter FK got a freekick which was hit by Viggo Bergman. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ronny Ekegren got free with Vilgot Fernström in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ronny Ekegren was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Wiktor Bröms hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adam Jansson was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 53rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 55th minute Ronny Ekegren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vilgot Fernström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ransäter FK's zone, Bo Holmgren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Calle Bredberg came out of the goal and Bo Holmgren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Bo Holmgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronny Ekegren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vilgot Fernström having to interfere. Esbjörn Larsson struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Calle Bredberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Borås FK. After having played for 86 minutes, Bo Holmgren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Borås FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bo Holmgren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wiktor Bröms fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Calle Bredberg having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Bo Holmgren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bo Holmgren struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Calle Bredberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Borås FK. The Ransäter FK players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
