The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Gösta Rudqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filiph Stenström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Calle Möller could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Michael Ahlstedt made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Gusselby IK's zone, Sven Karlsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filiph Stenström came out of the goal and Sven Karlsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gösta Rudqvist in the 10th minute of play forced Gusselby IK's goalkeeper Filiph Stenström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christian Nordin got free with Michael Ahlstedt in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 14 minutes into the match, Kungsängen's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Bergfeldt came free, but Michael Ahlstedt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With 15 minutes on the clock, Egon Wiberg commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 15 minutes into the game, one of Kungsängen:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Sven-Erik Sefastsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Michael Ahlstedt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Gusselby IK's Jan Bergfeldt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Michael Ahlstedt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Paul Högman kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. 44 minutes into the match, Gusselby IK's Jan Bergfeldt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Michael Ahlstedt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Calle Möller recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jan Bergfeldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Ahlstedt having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jan Bergfeldt made a kick off. Kungsängen's Michael Ahlstedt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Calle Möller in the 52nd minute of play. Jan Bergfeldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Calle Möller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Jan Bergfeldt came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Gusselby IK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jan Bergfeldt couldn't finish the play. Sven-Erik Sefastsson struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Michael Ahlstedt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gusselby IK. Jan Bergfeldt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Michael Ahlstedt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Gösta Rudqvist in the 66thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Filiph Stenström, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jan Bergfeldt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bo Trillkott hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Michael Ahlstedt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Calle Möller in the 73rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Calle Möller managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gusselby IK's supporters rose to their feet, but Calle Möller was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michael Ahlstedt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jan Bergfeldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Michael Ahlstedt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Calle Möller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Gusselby IK players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
