The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Arman Hägglund's late challenge caught a Gusselby IK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Charles Allbom scored 1-1 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Filiph Stenström, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 19th minute Calle Möller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Löfkvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patrick Löfkvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan Bergfeldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The attack was good, but when Jan Bergfeldt in the 23rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Patrick Löfkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Calle Möller, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Allan Håning's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Filiph Stenström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. After 30 minutes, Leonard Viklund mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gusselby IK and the FC Skogge players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 29 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Gusselby IK! Filiph Stenström had in the 31stth minute some difficulties stopping Matthias Pilgren's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The supporters of FC Skogge booed when Gusselby IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oliver Persson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 40 minutes into the match, FC Skogge's goal looked a bit too open when Calle Möller came free, but Patrick Löfkvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Calle Möller scored 1-2 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Patrick Löfkvist, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Bergfeldt in the 47th minute of play forced FC Skogge's goalkeeper Patrick Löfkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jan Bergfeldt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Gusselby IK's Sven-Erik Sefastsson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. After 57th play minutes Calle Möller shot 1-4, a short shot which went by Patrick Löfkvist and just under the crossbar into goal. 61 minutes into the match, Charles Allbom had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Filiph Stenström. Gusselby IK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Charles Allbom was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-4. Anders Näver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filiph Stenström having to interfere. Filiph Stenström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from August Svanér, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patrick Löfkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan Bergfeldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Patrick Löfkvist made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Calle Möller sent off a good shot on target. Sven-Erik Sefastsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Patrick Löfkvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute of the match Per-Arne Bergren shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Patrick Löfkvist showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 81 minutes into the match, FC Skogge's goalkeeper Patrick Löfkvist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ernst Hultstrand. Patrick Löfkvist came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Gusselby IK's Calle Möller. But to his dismay, Calle Möller quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-6. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernst Hultstrand in the 91st minute of play forced FC Skogge's goalkeeper Patrick Löfkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jan Bergfeldt charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jan Bergfeldt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Gusselby IK's Jan Bergfeldt got a free kick in the 96th minute. The Gusselby IK players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
