Sven Karlsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rune Arvidsson having to make a save. Michael Ahlstedt made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Per-Åke Sandberg sent off a good shot on target. Agne Dahlquist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Michael Ahlstedt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rune Arvidsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven Karlsson in the 19th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Flen's zone, Gösta Rudqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rune Arvidsson came out of the goal and Gösta Rudqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A hard shot 23 in the game by Per-Åke Sandberg from a close distance when the talented Michael Ahlstedt managed to make a qualified save. Kungsängen's players were relieved. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Folke Löfgren managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flen's supporters rose to their feet, but Folke Löfgren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michael Ahlstedt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Gösta Rudqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Michael Ahlstedt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Folke Löfgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Sven Karlsson came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Kungsängen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sven Karlsson couldn't finish the play. If Gösta Rudqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Sven Karlsson came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Kungsängen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sven Karlsson couldn't finish the play. 38 minutes into the match, Sven Karlsson notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Flen's Rune Arvidsson. Rune Arvidsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 41st minute, Jens-Ola Myhr had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Kent Apelqvist charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kent Apelqvist the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Kungsängen's Michael Ahlstedt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Kungsängen from getting a goal against them. Rutger Kielstedt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Per-Åke Sandberg to make the kick off. Per-Åke Sandberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Ahlstedt having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sven Karlsson in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rune Arvidsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Rutger Kielstedt fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Flen's protests and gave Rutger Kielstedt a yellow card for diving instead. Flen's Rune Arvidsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven Karlsson in the 83rd minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Flen's goal looked a bit too open when Sven Karlsson came free, but Rune Arvidsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sven Karlsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rune Arvidsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Michael Ahlstedt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per-Åke Sandberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. The Flen supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Kungsängen's performance. The match ended with a win for Kungsängen.
