Linghem's supporters rose to their feet, but Börje Groth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brian Melberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Brian Melberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Börje Groth, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Svanavattnet's Brian Melberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Börje Groth in the 9th minute of play. A hard shot 10 in the game by Bengt-Arne Ros from a close distance when the talented Brian Melberg managed to make a qualified save. Svanavattnet's players were relieved. Brian Melberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bengt-Arne Ros went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Hans Kalfhage charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hans Kalfhage the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 20th minute, Hans Kalfhage hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Egon Almqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustaf Deckberg having to interfere. Bengt-Arne Ros blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Brian Melberg having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bengt-Arne Ros got free with Brian Melberg in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Börje Groth received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Brian Melberg came out and tried to block the shot, but Börje Groth slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 33rd minute. If Börje Groth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute, David Hägg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Börje Groth made a kick off. 57 minutes into the match, Svanavattnet's goal looked a bit too open when Börje Groth came free, but Brian Melberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Egon Almqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Linghem's Sixten Tidéksson tried to score from far away in the 62nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 64th minute Bengt-Arne Ros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brian Melberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 64th minute, Bengt-Arne Ros ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brian Melberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Svanavattnet's Egon Almqvist got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 68th minute Egon Almqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustaf Deckberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Egon Almqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Linghem's zone, Egon Almqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustaf Deckberg came out of the goal and Egon Almqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If August Hedlund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Egon Almqvist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Gustaf Deckberg made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Linghem's zone, August Hedlund stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustaf Deckberg came out of the goal and August Hedlund tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 92 minutes into the match, Svanavattnet's goal looked a bit too open when Bengt-Arne Ros came free, but Brian Melberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Many of Svanavattnet's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Svanavattnet may have spent more time on the ball, but Linghem were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
