The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rickard Vase's late challenge caught a Veggies VV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rickard Vase helped the player get up and apologised. Victor Uggstedt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eric Fristedt in the 5th minute of play. Victor Uggstedt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ingemar Edström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Veggies VV's Eric Fristedt in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Eksjö's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Ingemar Edström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Veggies VV's supporters rose to their feet, but Ingemar Edström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victor Uggstedt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 28 played minutes Eksjö got a freekick which was hit by Joakim Häll. In the 31st minute Eric Fristedt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Uggstedt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Victor Uggstedt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ingemar Edström in the 34th minute of play. 36 minutes into the game, Eric Fristedt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Victor Uggstedt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eric Fristedt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Uggstedt having to interfere. After the first half Veggies VV were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ingemar Edström was the one to do the kick off. Eric Fristedt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Victor Uggstedt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. In the 56th minute, Andreas Lidman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 59 minutes into the match, Eksjö's goal looked a bit too open when Eric Fristedt came free, but Victor Uggstedt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute, Dan Västerstrand hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72nd minute Eric Fristedt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Uggstedt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Eksjö getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Knut Runeberg hit a great ball. With a little luck, Eksjö's Victor Uggstedt got control of the ball when Ingemar Edström tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sixten Söderquist hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sixten Söderquist in the 89th minute of play forced Veggies VV's goalkeeper Johan Sigfridsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ingemar Edström blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Victor Uggstedt having to make a save. 97 minutes into the match, Eksjö's goalkeeper Victor Uggstedt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ingemar Edström. When the final whistle sounded Veggies VV left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Eksjö.
