Anton Jonsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Walter Carlsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. If Frank Holmberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 15 minutes of play, Alnarp's Fritz Gustafsson made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Olle Lägdin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Olle Lägdin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Frank Holmberg's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Holmberg in the 20th minute of play forced FC Barcelona's goalkeeper Olle Lägdin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olle Lägdin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Holmberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. FC Barcelona's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fritz Gustafsson to make the kick off. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oliver Kullander during the 82nd minute.
