Patric Billock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernt Utter, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Patric Billock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernt Utter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute, Inge Kjellqvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Per Salkvist might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Filip Malm. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The Liverpool FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Filip Malm should have stopped the shot. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Per Salkvist made a kick off. After 73 played minutes Liverpool FC got a freekick which was hit by Jan-Erik Rönn. If Fritz Ferm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th match minute, Västerås sk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ture Vennerström to maneuver through the defense. Bernt Ståhlberg, 80 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Patric Billock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niklas Vidman in the 81st minute of play. Patric Billock made an important save on a dangerous shot by Inge Kjellqvist in the 83rd minute. Niklas Vidman received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Patric Billock came out and tried to block the shot, but Niklas Vidman slotted it home off the left post making it 2-5 in the 86th minute. With a little luck, Västerås sk's Patric Billock got control of the ball when Bernt Utter tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bernt Utter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Niklas Vidman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Patric Billock was relentless in the 97th minute of the game. The Västerås sk supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Liverpool FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Liverpool FC.
