Hakenäset BF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fredrik Valrot was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 21 minutes in the game Wilhelm Westerstrand got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. When Fredrik Valrot came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Hakenäset BF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fredrik Valrot couldn't finish the play. When Fritz Ferm fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Västerås sk's protests and gave Fritz Ferm a yellow card for diving instead. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Västerås sk's goalkeeper Patric Billock, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Göran Vidman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Fredrik Valrot came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Hakenäset BF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fredrik Valrot couldn't finish the play. If Emil Algren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fredrik Valrot to strike the kick off in the second half. Fredrik Valrot hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Göran Vidman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Patric Billock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patric Billock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Göran Vidman in the 96th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Hakenäset BF had won after a very even match.
