The audience thought a goal was coming when Knut Ståhlman got free with Filip Malm in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Knut Ståhlman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 16 minutes into the match, Liverpool FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eskil Sandberg came free, but Filip Malm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Melker Borre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niklas Vidman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niklas Vidman in the 19th minute of play forced Skövde FC's goalkeeper Melker Borre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Skövde FC's zone, Inge Kjellqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Melker Borre came out of the goal and Inge Kjellqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Eskil Sandberg in the 24th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Filip Malm kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. If Knut Ståhlman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Niklas Vidman made a kick off. If Eskil Sandberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. Melker Borre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Filip Malm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Knut Ståhlman, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Eskil Sandberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filip Malm having to interfere. After some careless play in the Liverpool FC defense, Eskil Sandberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Filip Malm. The Liverpool FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Filip Malm should have stopped the shot. Eskil Sandberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 76th minute, Eskil Sandberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Filip Malm was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 78th minute, Brian Gunnarsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Inge Kjellqvist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 83 minutes into the match, Skövde FC's goal looked a bit too open when Niklas Vidman came free, but Melker Borre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eskil Sandberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filip Malm having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Skövde FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Liverpool FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
