When Sven Hafström, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 12 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Frank Back was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Sven Hafström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Frank Back read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Frank Back took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven Hafström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to AIK Stockholm getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Joel Lindgren hit a great ball. Arne Abelsson struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Sivert Alfors didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dala-Husby. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Rosen in the 28th minute of play forced AIK Stockholm's goalkeeper Sivert Alfors to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frank Back took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven Hafström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 37 minutes, Krister Finnman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AIK Stockholm and the Dala-Husby players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Arne Abelsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 44 minutes, Tomas Rosen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dala-Husby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Rosen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Tomas Rosen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sven Hafström to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Krister Finnman in the 52nd minute of play forced Dala-Husby's goalkeeper Frank Back to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sven Hafström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Back having to interfere. When Krister Finnman came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the AIK Stockholm fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Krister Finnman couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sten Ahlqvist during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of AIK Stockholm booed when Dala-Husby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sten Ahlqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Rosen in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sivert Alfors saved AIK Stockholm from getting behind. 69 minutes into the match, AIK Stockholm's goalkeeper Sivert Alfors had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arne Abelsson. Krister Finnman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Krister Finnman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sivert Alfors didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 86th minute, which inside left pole to 0-1. Sivert Alfors showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Rosen, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. The Dala-Husby players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
