Jim Browald hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Svante Smitt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edvard Sellberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 16th minute Jens-Erik Säv shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Svante Smitt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jim Browald lost his temper 17 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 17 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Säve BF! The Utö IFK fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when Utö IFK's Per Forsman looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Gösta Tinglöf scored 1-2 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Robin Hansson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gösta Tinglöf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Robin Hansson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jens-Erik Säv to strike the kick off in the second half. Billy Giliusson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Gösta Tinglöf came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Säve BF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gösta Tinglöf couldn't finish the play. Gösta Tinglöf struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Robin Hansson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Säve BF. Säve BF's Richard Lindsten got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Utö IFK's zone, Gösta Tinglöf stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robin Hansson came out of the goal and Gösta Tinglöf tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Gösta Tinglöf managed to get in a good position for a shot. Säve BF's supporters rose to their feet, but Gösta Tinglöf was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Robin Hansson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leif Axelsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robin Hansson having to interfere. When Säve BF's Gösta Tinglöf in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Utö IFK's goalie prevented a goal. Leif Axelsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fred Kellbom could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Svante Smitt made a huge save. Gösta Tinglöf recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gösta Tinglöf in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Robin Hansson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 89 minutes into the match, Utö IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Gösta Tinglöf came free, but Robin Hansson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gösta Tinglöf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Robin Hansson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Gösta Tinglöf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. But to his dismay, Gösta Tinglöf quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Säve BF players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
