Spectators: 7256 (Terracing: 5443, Seating: 1669, VIP seats: 144) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Yngve Mossberg made the kick off which started today's match. After 3 played minutes Backalagens GOIF got a freekick which was hit by Gunnar Holmgren. With a little luck, Backalagens GOIF's Karl-Michael Walmarsson got control of the ball when Daniel Lindgren tried to sneak it across the goal line. Karl-Michael Walmarsson made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Daniel Lindgren sent off a good shot on target. Gunnar Holmgren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Gösta Hafström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yngve Mossberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 15 minutes into the game, Daniel Lindgren recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Karl-Michael Walmarsson. Daniel Lindgren showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. If Lennart Möller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gösta Hafström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yngve Mossberg in the 21st minute of play. When Oskar Thedin fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Moliden's protests and gave Oskar Thedin a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Moliden getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Oskar Thedin hit a great ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 28 minutes into the game, when Ian Östman put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Backalagens GOIF fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 27th minute. Penalty! Daniel Lindgrens short, quick shot in the 31stth minute got Karl-Michael Walmarsson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After having played for 35 minutes, Gunnar Holmgren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Backalagens GOIF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gunnar Holmgren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gunnar Holmgren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 39 minutes, Gunnar Holmgren mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Backalagens GOIF and the Moliden players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gunnar Holmgren hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Lennart Möller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 43 minutes into the match, Backalagens GOIF's Gunnar Holmgren sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gösta Hafström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 44 played minutes Backalagens GOIF got a freekick which was hit by Yngve Mossberg. In the 46th minute, Oskar Thedin made a precise shot to the right of Karl-Michael Walmarsson. Backalagens GOIF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Pär Pihlgren made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Moliden getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Pär Pihlgren hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Moliden's zone, Yngve Mossberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gösta Hafström came out of the goal and Yngve Mossberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Karl-Michael Walmarsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pär Pihlgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Torbjörn Myr charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Torbjörn Myr the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 60th minute, Torbjörn Myr hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Backalagens GOIF's Karl-Michael Walmarsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pär Pihlgren in the 74th minute of play. In the 81st minute Daniel Lindgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Michael Walmarsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gunnar Holmgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Lindgren in the 94th minute of play forced Backalagens GOIF's goalkeeper Karl-Michael Walmarsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pär Pihlgren scored 3-0 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Karl-Michael Walmarsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
