Olle Vase showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per-Olof Ahlgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Michael Bohlin in the 12th minute of play forced Vaxmora Boys's goalkeeper Ragnar Kruse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ragnar Kruse showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karl-Michael Bohlin in the 14th minute of the match. Vaxmora Boys's Rickard Smefeldt quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After having played for 22 minutes, Rickard Smefeldt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vaxmora Boys's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rickard Smefeldt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 26th minute Karl-Michael Bohlin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ragnar Kruse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Olle Vase managed to avoid a goal in the 30thth minute, when Vaxmora Boys's Per-Olof Ahlgren fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Per-Olof Ahlgren in the 33rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Olle Vase, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Torgny Forsberg fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vaxmora Boys's protests and gave Torgny Forsberg a yellow card for diving instead. In the 35th minute, one of Vaxmora Boys:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Vaxmora Boys. In the 37th minute there was a penalty for Grimstorp IK. Henning Biörkman stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ragnar Kruse. 0-2. Ragnar Kruse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl-Michael Bohlin in the 45th minute of play. Per-Olof Ahlgren in the 48thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Olle Vase, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After the first half Grimstorp IK were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Per-Olof Ahlgren made the kick off in the second half. The throw-in from Bertil Alberg in the 52nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Vaxmora Boys's Per-Olof Godholm. After 54 played minutes Grimstorp IK got a freekick which was hit by Jörgen Spetz. The audience was convinced that Per-Olof Ahlgren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Olle Vase was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Ragnar Kruse showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gunnar Åkesson, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute.
