The audience thought a goal was coming when Valter Månsson got free with Uno Löfgren in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Valter Månsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uno Löfgren having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Jonny Almstedt kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Uno Löfgren. That made the score 2-0 in the 28 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Lund in the 33rd minute of play forced Aneby IFK's goalkeeper Max Rönn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hugo Lund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Max Rönn having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Hugo Lund put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Max Rönn. Max Rönn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Niklas Brolin went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Max Rönn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hugo Lund's shot from short distance in the 49th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 53rd minute Valter Månsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Uno Löfgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aneby IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valter Månsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Max Rönn made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Niklas Brolin sent off a good shot on target. Hugo Lund recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Valter Månsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aneby IFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Valter Månsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Uno Löfgren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 80th minute, Jonny Almstedt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
