Per-Arne Mattsson scored 0-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mattias Abelsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mörlunda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sven-Edvin Alströmer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mattias Abelsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Per-Arne Mattsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Freddie Stenman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Mörlunda were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Axel Tidéksson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eric Hermansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After a rather tough play, Obbola BF's Douglas Kellbom got a free kick in the 55th minute. If Sven-Edvin Alströmer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Freddie Stenman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The excitement rose when Obbola BF's Ragnar Enegren after 63 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Mörlunda's goalkeeper to hold.
