The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Simon Brandt during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sven Jespersson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bengt-Arne Gullesson having to interfere. After 7 played minutes Sjölidens BK got a freekick which was hit by Felix Persson. The crowd rose to their feet as Sven Jespersson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Bengt-Arne Gullesson. That made the score 1-0 in the 9 minute of play. Tommy Brodin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bengt-Arne Gullesson having to interfere. Jens-Ove Boström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bengt-Arne Gullesson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven Jespersson in the 20th minute of play. Kjell Biörnberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Bror Albäck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 29 played minutes Thames Ironworks FC got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Käcker. Olof Linberg kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. 38 minutes into the game, Olof Linberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Thames Ironworks FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sjölidens BK the free kick. In the 38th match minute, Thames Ironworks FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olof Linberg to maneuver through the defense. Sture Eliasson, 39 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When Olof Linberg was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 40 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Thames Ironworks FC's Olof Linberg got a free kick in the 41st minute. In the 44th minute, Kjell Biörnberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Michael Paulin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kjell Biörnberg to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Sven Jespersson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Tommy Brodin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd minute, Thames Ironworks FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Michael Paulin fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Kjell Biörnberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Michael Paulin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 72 minutes into the match, Thames Ironworks FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kjell Biörnberg came free, but Bror Albäck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kjell Biörnberg received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bror Albäck came out and tried to block the shot, but Kjell Biörnberg slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 75th minute. Kjell Biörnberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Thames Ironworks FC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Leonardo Käcker hit a great ball. After having played for 81 minutes, Michael Paulin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sjölidens BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michael Paulin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bengt-Arne Gullesson came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Thames Ironworks FC's Tommy Brodin. But to his dismay, Tommy Brodin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 91st minute of the game. One of Thames Ironworks FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sjölidens BK:s goal. 98 minutes into the game, Albert Lång was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sjölidens BK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Thames Ironworks FC the free kick. In the 98th minute, Albert Lång hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Sjölidens BK's zone, Torsten Lundhberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bengt-Arne Gullesson came out of the goal and Torsten Lundhberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
