When the match clock showed 24 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Börje Bolin sped through Sonkans IK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Melker Larsfält. Hult's Edmund Ahlfors got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Börje Bolin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 33 minutes into the game, Gabriel Dahlgren was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sonkans IK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hult the free kick. Melker Larsfält took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmund Ahlfors, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Edmund Ahlfors's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Melker Larsfält was relentless in the 40th minute of the game.
