Leonardo Bållström started the match with the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leonardo Bållström in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kennet Blomkvist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Sonkans IK's Leonardo Bållström in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Linghed's goalie prevented a goal. 13 minutes into the game, Uno Ugla was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Linghed's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sonkans IK the free kick. A collision led to Linghed getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Uno Ugla hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torbjörn Möller in the 16th minute of play forced Sonkans IK's goalkeeper Melker Larsfält to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kennet Blomkvist was a little too slow when Pär Berg got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 19th minute. The score was now 1-0. Melker Larsfält took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torbjörn Möller, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Linghed's Kennet Blomkvist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Linghed from getting a goal against them. Leonardo Bållström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Kennet Blomkvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leonardo Bållström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kennet Blomkvist having to interfere. Linghed's Kennet Blomkvist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Linghed from getting a goal against them. Kennet Blomkvist made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Gabriel Dahlgren sent off a good shot on target.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Torbjörn Möller was the one to do the kick off. Torbjörn Möller's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 55thth minute, Melker Larsfält skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 58th match minute, Sonkans IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stig-Arne Håkansson to maneuver through the defense. When Torbjörn Möller came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Linghed fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Torbjörn Möller couldn't finish the play. During the 61st minute of the match Stig-Arne Håkansson completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Stig-Arne Håkansson a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Torbjörn Möller might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Melker Larsfält. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Torbjörn Möller ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Sonkans IK's Melker Larsfält got control of the ball when Arman Nordström tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sonkans IK's Melker Larsfält played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Torbjörn Möller in the 66th minute of play. Leonardo Bållström's late challenge caught a Linghed's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonardo Bållström helped the player get up and apologised. Leonardo Bållström hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Linghed's Linus Njurenius couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 70th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Sonkans IK. Melker Larsfält made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arman Nordström in the 71st minute. Sonkans IK's Pär Berg got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Torbjörn Möller fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Melker Larsfält having to interfere. Melker Larsfält made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Arman Nordström sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 88 minutes, Torbjörn Möller managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Linghed's supporters crossed their fingers, but Torbjörn Möller was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
